Overview

Registered in 1984 by M. Eisel and the American Hosta Society, 'Golden Medallion' is a medium-sized sport of *Hosta* 'Tokudama Aureonebulosa'. Its leaves are green with yellow-green margins, a color pattern that distinguishes it from its parent.

In the Garden

This cultivar reaches medium mature size, suitable for partial to full shade in typical hosta-growing zones. Its green-and-gold foliage pairs well with ferns, heucheras, and other shade perennials. It is not typically recommended for container culture due to its medium stature.

Care Notes

Water regularly to maintain even soil moisture, especially during dry periods. Apply a balanced slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Slugs and deer may damage foliage; monitor and manage as needed.
