Overview
Registered in 1985 by C. Owens, this medium-sized hosta is a hybrid of *Hosta* 'Bengee'. It is visually distinctive for its green leaves with gold margins that transition to chartreuse, combined with undulating leaf edges that give a piecrust-like appearance. The cordate to elongated leaf bases and 12 vein pairs contribute to its structured form.
In the Garden
Mature plants reach approximately 24 inches (61.0 cm) in diameter and 9 inches (22.9 cm) in height, with scapes up to 25 inches (63.5 cm) tall. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical for hostas, and is suitable for borders, woodland gardens, or as a groundcover in shaded beds. Its medium size makes it appropriate for mixed perennial plantings with ferns or shade-tolerant companions.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Slugs and deer may damage foliage; monitor and manage as needed in typical hosta-growing zones.
