Overview
Registered in 2003, *Hosta* 'Dimension X' is a small, fast-growing cultivar of unknown pollen parentage, with *H.* 'Pin Stripe Sister' as the pod parent. It is visually distinctive for its heavily rippled and serrated leaf margins, which create a deeply wavy, ruffled appearance on medium green, very shiny foliage.
In the Garden
'Dimension X' forms a compact, mound-like clump reaching 14 inches (35.6 cm) in height and 26 inches (66.0 cm) in diameter, making it suitable for the front of borders, rock gardens, or container culture. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical for hostas, and pairs well with small ferns, heucheras, or other shade-tolerant perennials of similar scale. Its fast growth rate allows it to fill in quickly.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Standard slug and deer precautions are advisable, as the shiny, tender foliage may be attractive to both pests.
