Registered in 2001 from unknown parentage, *Hosta* 'Demetriou's Gold' is a medium-sized cultivar distinguished by its intensely cupped, broadly ovate leaves with greenish-yellow (chartreuse) margins and a dull, flat surface that lacks any gloss. The foliage is notably flat in color and habit, forming a dense, mound-like clump.

Reaching 18 inches (45.7 cm) in height and 38 inches (96.5 cm) in diameter, this moderate-growing hosta is suitable for partial to full shade in typical hosta-growing zones. Its compact, flat mound and vibrant chartreuse margins make it effective as a groundcover or edging plant, pairing well with ferns and other shade perennials. The dull leaf surface reduces glare, allowing it to blend subtly into woodland settings.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Standard slug and deer precautions are advisable, as with most hostas.
