Overview
Registered in 2010 by breeder Mark Zilis, this large hosta cultivar is a hybrid of *Hosta* 'Mikawa no Yuki' and *H. pycnophylla*. It is visually distinctive for its broadly ovate, intensely wavy leaves with light green, heavily rippled margins and glaucous white undersides that create a draped effect.
In the Garden
'Valley's Shipwreck's Cove' reaches a mature diameter of approximately 28 inches (70 cm) and a height of 22 inches (55 cm), with an upright growth habit and fast growth rate. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical for hostas, and pairs well with ferns, astilbes, and other shade-tolerant perennials. Its large size and bold foliage make it suitable as a specimen or accent plant in woodland borders.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture during dry periods, especially in full shade. Apply balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. While generally resistant to deer, slug control may be necessary in damp conditions.
