Royal Flush

Hosta "Royal Flush" review

A fortunei type, green leaves with a very wide yellow margin. Some of the yellow follows the veins part way or to the midrib. Lavender flowers. This stunning Hosta 'Fortunei' mutation from the late Robert Savory has been very difficult to find until now. Having seen the fantastic specimen in the Savory garden, I feel that this is one plant that must get out to a larger audience. Each 30" wide clump is composed of wide tapering leaves that arch on long petioles. Each leaf is similar in appearance to Hosta montana 'Aureomarginata' but with an olive-green center pattern surrounded by a tremendously wide butterscotch yellow border. The clumps are topped with 30" scapes of light lavender in early summer.
