Overview

Registered in 1986 by Kuk's Forest Nursery, *Hosta* 'Heliarc' is a small sport of *H. 'Fortunei'* distinguished by medium green leaves with chartreuse to yellow margins. The leaf blade reaches 6 inches (15.2 cm) in length and 4 inches (10.2 cm) in width, with eight pairs of veins.

In the Garden

Reaching a mature size of 10 inches (25.4 cm) in height and 12 inches (30.5 cm) in diameter, this small hosta is well suited for the front of shaded borders or rock gardens. It performs best in partial to full shade, though the gold margin coloration may intensify with some morning light. Its compact dimensions make it an appropriate choice for container cultivation.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture during the growing season, applying a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new shoots emerge. As with most hostas, slug and deer damage may occur and should be managed through routine monitoring or physical barriers.
