Registered in 1988 by BHHS, Hosta 'Phyllis Campbell' is a medium-sized sport of Hosta 'Fortunei'. This cultivar is visually distinctive for its green leaves with gold margins and yellow marbling within the margins, creating a variegated pattern that contrasts with the solid green center.

In the Garden

'Phyllis Campbell' reaches a mature size typical of medium hostas, suitable for mid-border positions or as a specimen in partial to full shade. It pairs well with ferns, astilbes, and other shade-tolerant perennials, and its moderate size makes it appropriate for mixed woodland gardens or shaded foundation plantings. This cultivar is not typically recommended for container culture due to its medium stature.
