Overview

Registered in 2007 from unknown parentage, *Hosta* 'My Heart' is a small, mound-forming cultivar distinguished by its nearly round, heart-shaped leaves with medium green margins and pale lavender flowers. The variegated foliage, lightly cupped and corrugated, presents a dull surface on both sides, with 10 to 11 vein pairs per leaf.

In the Garden

Reaching 18 inches (45.7 cm) in height and 55 inches (139.7 cm) in diameter, 'My Heart' forms a dense, fast-growing mound suitable for partial to full shade in typical hosta-growing zones. Its compact size and rounded leaves make it an effective groundcover or edging plant, pairing well with ferns, heucheras, or small woodland perennials. The green scapes, rising 22 to 26 inches (55.9 to 66.0 cm), bear pale lavender flowers above the foliage in midsummer.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, this cultivar is susceptible to slug and deer damage, so protective measures may be necessary in areas with high pest pressure.
