Overview

Registered in 2004 by the Lakeside hybridizing program, *Hosta* 'Lakeside Pillow Talk' is a large, fast-growing cultivar notable for its heavily cupped, nearly round leaves with dark green margins and a very shiny upper surface. The leaf blades, reaching 11 inches in length and 9 inches in width, cup downward, giving the plant a distinctive, rounded profile.

In the Garden

With a mature spread of 45 inches and a height of 19 inches, this cultivar forms a dense, mound-like clump suitable for partial to full shade in typical hosta-growing zones. The green scapes rise 20 to 34 inches above the foliage, bearing pale lavender flowers in midsummer. Its compact, rounded habit makes it an effective groundcover or edging plant, pairing well with ferns, heucheras, and other shade perennials.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, this cultivar is susceptible to slug and deer damage, so protective measures may be necessary in high-pressure areas.
