Overview

A sport of *Hosta* 'Teeny Weeny Bikini' registered in 2007, 'Greenie Weenie Bikini' is a small, fast-growing cultivar distinguished by its lance-shaped, variegated leaves with light green, slightly rippled margins. The foliage is dull on the upper surface and slightly shiny beneath, with four to five vein pairs per leaf.

In the Garden

This compact hosta reaches 8 inches (20.3 cm) in height and 14 inches (35.6 cm) in diameter, making it suitable for the front of borders, rock gardens, or container plantings. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical of hosta-growing zones, and pairs well with small ferns, heucheras, or woodland groundcovers. Its fast growth rate allows it to fill space quickly in shaded areas.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, it is susceptible to slug and deer damage; monitor regularly and apply controls as needed. The plant is notably floriferous, producing five bloom scapes per crown, each bearing 8 to 12 flowers on green scapes 8 to 12 inches (20.3 to 30.5 cm) tall.
