It is visually distinctive for its dark green leaves with streaked flat margins, a slightly shiny upper surface, and a waxy underside, creating a variegated effect that contrasts with the typical gold-centered parent.

'Hosta 'Bob Sanders' reaches a mature diameter of 26 inches (66.0 cm) and a height of 21 inches (53.3 cm), with an upright growth habit and moderate growth rate. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical of hostas, and pairs well with ferns, heucheras, and other shade-tolerant perennials. Its medium size makes it suitable for border fronts, woodland gardens, or as a specimen in shaded beds.

Care Notes

Water regularly to maintain even soil moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. While moderately resistant to slugs and deer, monitoring for damage is advisable in high-pressure areas.
