Overview
Registered in 1999, this small sport of *Hosta* 'Blue Wedgwood' forms a compact, mound-like clump. The cultivar is distinguished by its blue-green leaves with gold margins, a glaucous bloom on both leaf surfaces, and slightly rippled leaf edges.
In the Garden
With a mature spread of 12 inches (30.5 cm) and height of 9 inches (22.9 cm), 'Punky' is suited to the front of borders, rock gardens, or container culture. It performs best in partial to full shade, where its blue-green foliage and gold margins remain most distinct. Companion plants could include small ferns, heucheras, or other miniature hostas that share similar light and moisture requirements.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like many hostas, 'Punky' may be susceptible to slug and deer damage in typical hosta-growing zones.
