Overview

Registered in 2002 as a sport of *Hosta* 'Potomac Pride', 'Potomac Glory' is a large, fast-growing cultivar distinguished by its blue-green leaves with gold margins and a prominent light green center. The broadly ovate, moderately cupped leaves measure up to 12 inches long and 8 inches wide, with a glaucous bloom on the undersides and moderate corrugation.

In the Garden

'Potomac Glory' forms a dense, mound-like clump reaching 20 inches in height and 40 inches in diameter, making it suitable for mid-border or specimen placement in partial to full shade. Its large, textured leaves pair well with ferns, astilbes, and other shade perennials that contrast with its blue-green and gold coloration. The 30- to 36-inch scapes bear pale lavender flowers in midsummer.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Standard slug and deer precautions are advisable, as with most large-leaved hostas.
