Overview
Registered in 2015, *Hosta* 'Pixie Moonstone' is a small hybrid derived from a cross between *H.* 'Teeny Weeny Bikini' and *H.* 'Purple Verticulated Elf'. This cultivar is visually distinctive for its compact mound of medium blue-green, lance-shaped leaves with slightly rippled margins and a dull surface on both sides.
In the Garden
Reaching approximately 8 inches (20.3 cm) in height and 14 inches (35.6 cm) in diameter, 'Pixie Moonstone' forms a dense, fast-growing mound suitable for the front of shaded borders, rock gardens, or woodland settings. Its small stature and tidy habit make it an excellent candidate for container cultivation. It pairs well with other small hostas, ferns, or shade-tolerant perennials in typical hosta-growing zones.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture and apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, this cultivar is susceptible to slug and deer damage; monitor regularly and take protective measures if needed.
