Overview
Registered in 2004, *Hosta* 'Pink Lemonade' is a small-sized cultivar derived from a cross between *H. 'Kinbuchi Tachi'* and *H. 'Subcrocea'*. It is visually distinctive for its upright, clump-forming habit, green leaves with flat yellow margins, and notably yellow scapes that bear red spotting on the petioles.
In the Garden
This cultivar reaches a mature diameter of 32 inches (81.3 cm) and a height of 10 inches (25.4 cm), with scapes rising 28 to 30 inches (71.1 to 76.2 cm). It performs best in partial to full shade, as is typical for hostas, and its moderate growth rate makes it suitable for border fronts, rock gardens, or container plantings. The yellow leaf margins and scapes provide subtle contrast when paired with darker-leaved perennials such as ferns or heucheras.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture during the growing season, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. As with most hostas, protect from slugs and deer, which may damage foliage.
