Overview
Registered in 1997 by G. Rasmussen, this small hosta cultivar is a hybrid of *Hosta* 'Flamboyant'. It is visually distinguished by its light green leaves with broad, creamy white margins that are slightly rippled, forming a compact, mound-like plant.
In the Garden
*Hosta* 'Pilgrim' reaches a mature diameter of 21 inches (53.3 cm) and a height of 8 inches (20.3 cm), making it suitable for the front of borders, rock gardens, or container culture. It performs best in partial to full shade with consistent moisture. Its moderate growth rate and small size allow it to pair well with other small perennials such as ferns, heucheras, or dwarf astilbes.
Care Notes
Water regularly to maintain even soil moisture, especially during dry periods. Fertilize in early spring as new growth emerges. As with most hostas, slug and deer damage may occur; monitor and manage as needed.
