Overview
Registered in 2005 by P. & J. Ruh, this medium-sized cultivar forms a compact, mound-like clump. Its variegated leaves feature dark green, slightly rippled margins with a narrow, creamy-white center, and the leaf surface is slightly shiny above and very shiny beneath.
In the Garden
'Picadilly Circus' performs best in partial to full shade, typical for hostas. At maturity, the plant reaches 15 inches (38.1 cm) in height and spreads 40 inches (101.6 cm) in diameter. Its moderate growth rate and compact habit suit it for border fronts, woodland gardens, or container plantings, where its dark green variegation contrasts well with golden or blue-leaved companions.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Standard slug and deer precautions are advisable, as both pests may damage the foliage.
