Overview
Registered in 2009 by K. Walek, *Hosta* 'Peppermint Cream' is a small-sized sport of *Hosta* 'Vanilla Cream'. It is distinguished by its green leaf centers with bright golden yellow chartreuse margins, creating a bicolor effect on broadly ovate, moderately corrugated foliage.
In the Garden
With a mature spread of 23 inches (58.4 cm) and height of 10 inches (25.4 cm), this mound-forming hosta is suitable for the front of borders, rock gardens, or container culture. It performs best in partial to full shade and combines well with ferns, heucheras, and other small-leaved shade perennials. Its compact size makes it an excellent choice for troughs or small woodland pockets.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture during the growing season, particularly in warmer exposures. Apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. As with most hostas, slug and deer damage may occur; monitor foliage regularly and employ barriers or repellents as needed in typical hosta-growing zones.
