Overview

A sport of *Hosta* 'Striptease' registered by the American Hosta Society in 2002, 'Peepshow' is a medium-sized cultivar distinguished by its dark green leaves with unstable streaks of light green, greenish yellow, yellow, and white in the leaf centers, set against slightly rippled white margins. The foliage is ovate with a tapered base, measuring 8 inches (20.3 cm) long and 6 inches (15.2 cm) wide, with 9 to 10 vein pairs, and exhibits a slightly shiny surface on both sides.

In the Garden

'Peepshow' forms a mound-like clump reaching 20 inches (50.8 cm) in height and 50 inches (127.0 cm) in diameter, with a moderate growth rate. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical of most hostas, and is suitable for borders, woodland gardens, or as a specimen plant where its variable leaf streaking can be appreciated. Its medium size makes it appropriate for mixed perennial beds, though it is not recommended for containers due to its spreading habit.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like many hostas, 'Peepshow' is susceptible to slug and deer damage, so appropriate deterrents may be necessary in areas where these pests are prevalent.
