Overview

Registered in 1987 by P. Aden, *Hosta* 'Peace' is a small-sized cultivar derived from a cross between *H.* 'Blue Hugger' (pod parent) and *H.* 'Love Pat' (pollen parent). It is visually distinctive for its blue-green leaf centers framed by white margins, a combination inherited from its parentage.

In the Garden

This compact hosta reaches approximately 5 inches (12.7 cm) in height and 9 inches (22.9 cm) in diameter, making it well-suited for shaded borders, rock gardens, or container plantings. It thrives in partial to full shade and pairs effectively with other small perennials such as ferns or heucheras. Its small stature and tidy habit also suit trough gardens or the front of a woodland bed.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. As with most hostas, protect from slugs and deer, which may damage the foliage.
