Overview
Registered in 2002 by P. & J. Ruh, this small sport of *Hosta* 'Birchwood Gold' is distinguished by its light greenish gold leaf centers framed by dark green, slightly rippled margins of variable width (0.6–2.0 cm). The ovate leaves are dull on both surfaces, with seven prominent vein pairs, and form a compact, mound-like plant.
In the Garden
With a mature diameter of 64.8 cm (25.5 in) and height of 29.2 cm (11.5 in), 'Parky's Perfection' is suited to the front of borders, rock gardens, or container culture. It performs best in partial to light shade, typical of hosta-growing zones, and combines well with small ferns, heucheras, or fine-textured groundcovers. Its very slow growth rate and modest size make it an appropriate choice for small-space gardens or troughs.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture, especially during establishment, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, it is susceptible to slug and deer damage; monitor and manage accordingly.
