Overview
Registered in 2014 from unknown parentage, *Hosta* 'Pandora' is a small, mound-forming cultivar distinguished by its intensely twisted and folded leaves with shiny, light green, slightly rippled margins. The central, newest leaves exhibit a distinctive arching blade that tapers to a point, set against a variegated background.
In the Garden
Reaching 12 inches (30.5 cm) in height and spreading to 30 inches (76.2 cm) in diameter, 'Pandora' forms a moderate-growing, compact mound suitable for the front of borders, rock gardens, or container plantings. It performs best in partial to full shade, where its glossy foliage contrasts well with finer-textured companions such as ferns or *Heuchera*. Its small stature makes it an excellent choice for troughs or small-scale woodland gardens.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Standard slug and deer precautions are recommended, as with most hostas.
