Overview

Registered in 2007, 'Pamela Lee' is a sport of *Hosta* 'Radiant Edger' distinguished by its very dark green leaf centers with medium green, flat margins. This small hosta forms a compact, mound-like clump 10 inches (25.4 cm) tall and 20 inches (50.8 cm) in diameter, with broadly ovate, lightly cupped leaves that are dull on both surfaces.

In the Garden

'Pamela Lee' performs best in partial to full shade, where its dark green variegation remains most distinct. Its small size and moderate growth rate suit it for the front of borders, rock gardens, or as an edging plant; it also grows well in containers. Companion plants such as ferns, heucheras, or small woodland perennials complement its low, mounded habit.

Care Notes

Water regularly to maintain consistent soil moisture, especially during dry periods. Fertilize in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, 'Pamela Lee' is susceptible to slug and deer damage; monitor and manage as needed in typical hosta-growing zones.
