Overview
Registered in 2000, 'Jubilation' is a giant hosta resulting from a cross between *H.* 'HB-87-1' and *H.* 'Sagae'. It is visually distinctive for its large, blue-green leaves with dark greenish-yellow, slightly rippled margins and a glaucous bloom on the undersides.
In the Garden
'Jubilation' grows to a mature spread of 70 inches (177.8 cm) and a height of 30 inches (76.2 cm), making it suitable as a specimen or focal point in partial shade. Its upright habit and substantial leaf size pair well with ferns, astilbes, and other shade-tolerant perennials. It is not recommended for containers due to its giant size.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most large-leaved hostas, it is susceptible to slug and deer damage; monitor and manage accordingly. Growth rate is slow, and it performs best in typical hosta-growing zones with well-drained soil.
