Overview

Registered in 1999, *Hosta* 'Jennifer' is a small-sized cultivar of unknown parentage. It is visually distinguished by its medium green leaves with broad, creamy white, slightly rippled margins and a compact, mound-like growth habit.

In the Garden

'Hosta' is best suited to partial or dappled shade, where its variegated foliage remains most vibrant. At maturity, it forms a dense mound 8 inches (20.3 cm) tall and 18 inches (45.7 cm) in diameter, making it an appropriate choice for the front of a border, rock gardens, or container plantings. Its moderate growth rate and small stature allow it to pair well with other low-growing perennials, such as *Heuchera* or *Tiarella*.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. As with many hostas, slug and deer damage may occur; regular monitoring and appropriate deterrents are recommended in typical hosta-growing zones.
