Overview
Registered in 1978 by P. Aden, this small hosta cultivar is a cross between *H.* 'Flamboyant' and *H.* 'High Fat Cream'. It is visually distinctive for its green leaves with splashed cream, chartreuse, and yellow margins, a variegation pattern inherited from its parentage.
In the Garden
*Hosta* 'Jambleliah' reaches a mature size of 12 inches (30.5 cm) in height and 15 inches (38.1 cm) in diameter, making it suitable for the front of a border or as an edging plant. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical of hosta-growing zones, and pairs well with other small shade perennials such as heucheras or ferns. Its compact size also makes it a candidate for container cultivation.
Care Notes
Water regularly to maintain even soil moisture, especially during dry periods. Fertilize in early spring as new growth emerges; slug and deer damage may occur and should be managed as needed.
