Overview
Registered in 2003 as a sport of *Hosta* 'Wide Brim', 'Ivy Parody' is a medium-sized cultivar distinguished by its blue-green leaves with very narrow creamy white margins that exhibit broad grayish zones extending into the leaf center. The foliage is notable for its rounded leaf bows, reminiscent of ivy, with twisted tips and a lightly corrugated, lightly wavy texture.
In the Garden
This cultivar forms a dense, mound-like clump reaching approximately 18 inches (45.7 cm) in height and 35.5 inches (90.2 cm) in diameter, with a very fast growth rate. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical for blue-green hostas, and pairs well with ferns, astilbes, and other shade-tolerant perennials that contrast with its variegated foliage. Its medium size makes it suitable for border fronts or as a groundcover in shaded beds.
Care Notes
Water regularly to maintain consistent soil moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, it is susceptible to slug and deer damage; monitoring and protective measures may be necessary in areas where these pests are prevalent.
