Overview
A sport of *Hosta* 'Inniswood' registered in 2009 by K. Walek, 'Innisjade' is a medium-sized cultivar distinguished by its blue-green leaf centers and dark green margins. The broadly ovate leaves, measuring 8 inches (20.3 cm) long and 6.5 inches (16.5 cm) wide, bear a glaucous bloom on both surfaces and 11 to 12 pairs of veins.
In the Garden
'Innisjade' forms a mound-like clump suitable for partial to full shade, reaching a mature spread of approximately 24 to 30 inches. Its blue-green foliage provides contrast alongside gold-leaved hostas or ferns, and the 20 to 26 inch (50.8 to 66.0 cm) dark green scapes bear lavender flowers in midsummer. This cultivar is not suited for container culture due to its medium size.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture during the growing season and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new shoots emerge. Like many blue-green hostas, 'Innisjade' is susceptible to slug and deer damage in typical hosta-growing zones.
