Overview
Registered in 1998 by G. Harshbarger, this large hosta is a hybrid of *Hosta sieboldiana*. Its most distinctive feature is the combination of blue-green foliage with slightly rippled leaf margins, borne on an upright plant with a slow growth habit.
In the Garden
'Hosta 'Indian Princess' reaches a mature diameter of 32 inches (81.3 cm) and a height of 25 inches (63.5 cm), with scapes extending to 29 inches (73.7 cm). It performs best in partial to full shade, typical for blue-leaved hostas, and its upright form makes it suitable for mid-border placement or as a specimen in woodland gardens. Pair with ferns, *Heuchera*, or other shade-tolerant perennials that complement its blue-green foliage.
Care Notes
Water regularly during dry periods; apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, it is susceptible to slug and deer damage; monitor and manage as needed in typical hosta-growing zones.
