Overview
Registered in 2005 by P. & J. Ruh, 'Inaho' is a small hosta distinguished by its unusual leaf coloration: mottled and streaked light green and yellow centers with narrow, medium green, slightly rippled margins. The lance-shaped leaves are slightly shiny above and very shiny below, with six vein pairs, and the plant produces greenish purple scapes reaching 28 to 34 inches (71.1 to 86.4 cm) in height.
In the Garden
'Inaho' forms a compact, upright clump 15 inches (38.1 cm) tall and 24 inches (61.0 cm) in diameter, with a moderate growth rate. Its small size and unusual color pattern make it suitable for the front of shaded borders, rock gardens, or container plantings, where its variegation remains visible. It pairs well with other small hostas, ferns, or shade-tolerant perennials that complement its green and yellow tones.
Care Notes
Water regularly during dry periods and apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, 'Inaho' may be damaged by slugs and deer in typical hosta-growing zones.
