Overview

Registered in 2000 as a sport of *Hosta* 'Abba Dabba Do', 'Zippity Do Dah' is a medium-sized cultivar distinguished by its medium green leaves with creamy white margins. The ovate leaves measure 8 inches (20.3 cm) long by 4.5 inches (11.4 cm) wide, with rounded bases and dull surfaces on both sides.

In the Garden

This cultivar forms a moderate-growing mound reaching 24 inches (61.0 cm) in height and 28 inches (71.1 cm) in diameter. Green scapes rise 22 to 28 inches (55.9 to 71.1 cm) above the foliage. It performs best in partial to dappled shade, where the variegation remains stable, and pairs well with other shade-tolerant perennials such as ferns, *Heuchera*, or *Tiarella*. Its medium size makes it suitable for the middle of a mixed border or as an accent in a woodland garden.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, it is susceptible to slug and deer damage; monitor regularly and take protective measures as needed.
