Overview

Registered in 1987 by R. Savory, this large hosta cultivar is a hybrid of *Hosta* 'Honey'. It is visually distinctive for its green leaves with wide, ruffled gold margins and light yellow ruffled edge, reaching 12 inches (30.5 cm) in length and 8 inches (20.3 cm) in width with 12 vein pairs.

In the Garden

Mature plants form a clump 30 inches (76.2 cm) in diameter and 20 inches (50.8 cm) in height, with scapes rising to 32 inches (81.3 cm). It performs best in partial to full shade, where the gold margins remain brightest; excessive sun may scorch the leaf edges. Suitable as a specimen or in mixed shade borders, it pairs well with ferns, heucheras, and other shade-tolerant perennials.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Slugs and deer may damage foliage; monitor and manage as needed in typical hosta-growing zones.
