Overview

Registered in 2014 from unknown parentage, *Hosta* 'Yellow Brick Road' is a miniature cultivar distinguished by its small, lance-shaped leaves that emerge spring yellow and transition to light green with flat, medium green margins. The leaves are notably textured, being moderately cupped, deeply twisted, moderately folded, and deeply wavy, with a dull surface above and below.

In the Garden

This miniature hosta forms a compact, fast-growing mound 8 inches (20.3 cm) in diameter and 3 inches (7.6 cm) high, making it suitable for rock gardens, troughs, or the front of shaded borders. It performs best in partial to full shade with well-drained soil, and its small stature pairs well with other miniature perennials such as *Heuchera* or *Tiarella*. Its diminutive size also makes it an excellent candidate for container cultivation.

Care Notes

Water regularly to maintain consistent moisture, particularly during dry periods. Apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, it is susceptible to slug and deer damage, though its small, wavy leaves may offer some resistance.
