Overview

Registered in 2013 as a sport of *Hosta* 'Little Wonder', 'Wonder Woman' is a small, fast-multiplying cultivar distinguished by its highly variable leaf variegation. The ovate, dull-surfaced leaves feature a streaked pattern of medium green and cream, with white margins of inconsistent width, creating a mottled rather than uniformly banded appearance.

In the Garden

With a mature diameter of 11 inches (27.9 cm) and height of 6 inches (15.2 cm), 'Wonder Woman' forms a compact, mound-like clump suitable for the front of borders, rock gardens, or container culture. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical for the genus, and its rapid growth rate makes it effective as a small-scale groundcover or edging plant. Companion plantings may include ferns, tiarella, or small sedges that echo its modest stature.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, especially during establishment, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, 'Wonder Woman' is susceptible to slug and deer damage; monitoring and protective measures are recommended in areas where these pests are prevalent.
