Overview
Registered in 1999, 'Wings of Faith' is a giant hosta of unknown parentage distinguished by its substantial size and variegated foliage. The leaves feature medium green, slightly rippled margins with a slight sheen on the upper surface and a very shiny underside, borne on plants reaching up to 60 inches (152.4 cm) in diameter and 26 inches (66.0 cm) in height.
In the Garden
This fast-growing, mound-forming cultivar is suitable for partial to full shade, where its large cordate leaves—16 inches (40.6 cm) long and 9 inches (22.9 cm) wide—create a bold textural presence. Its substantial dimensions make it appropriate as a specimen plant or as part of a mixed border in larger landscapes, where it pairs well with ferns, astilbes, and other shade-tolerant perennials. The green scapes, reaching 38 to 48 inches (96.5 to 121.9 cm) in height, bear typical hosta flowers in midsummer.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture, particularly during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. As with many large-leaved hostas, slug and deer damage may occur and should be managed through appropriate cultural or physical controls in typical hosta-growing zones.
