Overview
Registered in 2015, *Hosta* 'Wedding Belle Blues' is a small-sized sport of a streaked *Hosta* 'Blue Belle' seedling, distinguished by its blue-green leaves with gold margins and a pronounced streaky pattern of blue, green, and yellow. The broadly ovate leaves are lightly wavy and corrugated, with a dull upper surface and glaucous bloom beneath, reaching 6 inches (15.2 cm) long and 4.75 inches (12.1 cm) wide with 8 to 9 vein pairs.
In the Garden
This cultivar forms a compact, mound-like clump 24 inches (61.0 cm) in diameter and 10 inches (25.4 cm) high, with a moderate growth rate. It is suitable for partial to full shade in typical hosta-growing zones, where its variegated foliage provides consistent color. Its small size makes it appropriate for rock gardens, container plantings, or the front of shaded borders, where it pairs well with ferns or other small hostas.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. As with most hostas, protect from slugs and deer, which may damage the foliage.
