H. ‘Warwick Edge’

Hosta ‘Warwick Edge’ is a registered cultivar () .

Year registered1993
Section classIV-4b

Overview

Registered in 1993, this small hosta cultivar resulted from crossing *Hosta* 'William Lachman' (pod parent) with *Hosta nakaiana* (pollen parent). 'Warwick Edge' is visually distinctive for its medium blue-green leaves edged with a pure white margin approximately 0.38 inches (1.0 cm) wide, combined with a flat leaf base and dull surfaces on both sides.

In the Garden

Reaching 8 inches (20.3 cm) in height and spreading to 18 inches (45.7 cm) in diameter, 'Warwick Edge' is suitable for the front of borders, rock gardens, or as edging along pathways. It performs best in partial to full shade, as is typical for blue-green hostas, and pairs well with ferns, heucheras, and other small woodland perennials. Its compact size also makes it appropriate for container cultivation.

Care Notes

Water regularly to maintain consistent moisture, especially during dry periods. Apply a balanced slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, it is susceptible to slug and deer damage, so protective measures may be necessary in areas where these pests are prevalent.
