Overview

Registered in 2009 by K. Walek of the American Hosta Society, 'Warwick Delight' is a small hosta cultivar derived from a cross between *Hosta* 'William Lachman' (pod parent) and *Hosta* 'Blue Moon' (pollen parent). Its distinguishing feature is the creamy white leaf margins that often streak into the dark green center, creating an irregular variegation pattern.

In the Garden

This compact, mound-forming plant reaches a mature size of approximately 5.5 inches (14.0 cm) in leaf length and 3.4 inches (8.6 cm) in width, with seven pairs of veins per leaf. The ovate leaves with rounded bases have a dull upper surface and are well-suited for the front of shaded borders, rock gardens, or container plantings. It pairs effectively with other small shade perennials such as *Heuchera* or *Tiarella*.

Care Notes

'Warwick Delight' performs best in partial to full shade with consistently moist, well-drained soil. Apply a balanced slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges; this cultivar shows typical slug resistance for small hostas but may require protection from deer in areas where browsing is common.
