Overview
Registered in 1993, 'Warwick Cup' is a medium-sized hosta cultivar derived from a hybrid of *H. 'Tokudama'*. It is visually distinctive for its blue-green leaves with a pronounced glaucous bloom on both surfaces, smooth margins, and flat leaf bases.
In the Garden
'Warwick Cup' forms a dense, rounded clump reaching 20 inches (50.8 cm) in height and 32 inches (81.3 cm) in diameter at maturity. It performs best in partial to full shade, where its blue-green foliage retains its color most effectively. The medium size and compact habit make it suitable for border fronts, shade gardens, or as a specimen among ferns and other shade-tolerant perennials.
Care Notes
Water regularly during dry periods, especially in the first growing season. Apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, 'Warwick Cup' is susceptible to slug and deer damage; protective measures may be necessary in areas where these pests are prevalent.
