Hosta ‘Valley's Curly Wurly’ is a registered cultivar () .

Year registered2015
Section classII-2

Overview

Registered in 2015 by Valley, this large hosta cultivar results from a cross of two *Hosta pycnophylla* seedlings. Its most distinctive features are the intensely wavy, heavily rippled margins on medium blue-green leaves, combined with a very white underside (white-backed) that contrasts with the upper surface.

In the Garden

'Valley's Curly Wurly' forms a mound-like clump reaching approximately 43 inches (110 cm) in diameter and 24 inches (60 cm) in height, with a moderate growth rate. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical for blue-leaved hostas, where the leaf color and wavy margins are most pronounced. The thick, hanging leaves with good substance make it suitable for specimen planting or as a textural accent in shaded borders, paired with ferns or other fine-textured perennials.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. The thick leaves offer some resistance to slugs, though standard slug control measures may still be warranted in damp conditions.
