Overview
Registered in 2015, *Hosta* 'Valley's Bull's Eye' is a large, variegated cultivar resulting from a cross between *H.* 'One Man's Treasure' and *H.* 'Ringtail'. It is visually distinctive for its glossy, dark green leaves with heavily rippled, wavy margins and a very shiny surface on both sides.
In the Garden
This cultivar forms an upright clump reaching approximately 22 inches (55 cm) in height and 28 inches (70 cm) in diameter, with a moderate growth rate. It performs best in partial to full shade, as typical for hostas, and its bold, textured foliage makes it a strong specimen for the middle of a border or as a focal point in a shade garden. The large, ovate leaves with rounded bases and deep waviness pair well with ferns, heucheras, and other shade-tolerant perennials.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Standard slug and deer deterrents are recommended, as the glossy foliage may be attractive to these pests.
