Overview

Registered in 2008 as a selfed seedling of *Hosta* 'Seventh Heaven', 'Stairway to Heaven' is a medium-sized cultivar distinguished by stable white streaking on a medium green leaf with white margins. The foliage is ovate, moderately wavy, and lightly twisted, with very shiny surfaces above and below, and produces fragrant flowers.

In the Garden

This cultivar forms a dense clump 36 inches (91.4 cm) in diameter and 24 inches (61.0 cm) tall, with scapes reaching 34 to 42 inches (86.4 to 106.7 cm). It performs best in partial to full shade, typical for hostas, and its fast growth rate allows it to fill space quickly. The variegated leaves provide contrast when paired with ferns, heucheras, or other shade perennials; its medium size makes it suitable for border middles or woodland gardens.

Care Notes

Water regularly to maintain consistent moisture, especially during dry periods. Fertilize in early spring as growth emerges; slug and deer damage may occur and should be monitored.
