Overview
Registered in 2001 by T. Donahue (registrants P. & J. Ruh), this sport produces a large, upright clump of blue-green leaves with greenish-yellow margins. The leaf margins, ranging from 0.5 to 1.25 inches (1.3–3.2 cm) wide, are slightly rippled, and the ovate, cordate-based blades exhibit light corrugation, folding, twisting, and moderate waviness.
In the Garden
Mature clumps reach 24 inches (61.0 cm) in height and 40 inches (101.6 cm) in diameter, with scapes rising 33 to 35 inches (83.8–88.9 cm). This large cultivar performs best in partial to full shade, typical of hosta-growing zones. Its upright habit and substantial leaf surface make it suitable as a specimen or as part of a mixed border with ferns, heucheras, and other shade-tolerant perennials.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture, particularly during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Slugs and deer may damage foliage; monitor and manage as needed for the growing region.
