Overview
Registered in 1998, this miniature hosta originated from a cross between *H.* 'Chartreuse Wiggles' (pod parent) and *H.* 'Starburst' (pollen parent). The cultivar is distinguished by its small, light green leaves with narrow (0.3 cm), medium green, heavily rippled margins; the leaf surface is slightly shiny above and very shiny beneath.
In the Garden
Mature plants reach 8 inches (20.3 cm) in height and 12 inches (30.5 cm) in diameter, with a fast growth rate from a rhizomatous root system. It performs best in partial to dappled shade, typical of hosta-growing zones, and is well suited to rock gardens, troughs, or the front of shaded borders. Its miniature size makes it an excellent candidate for container cultivation, pairing effectively with other small shade perennials such as *Heuchera* or small ferns.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture during the growing season, particularly in containers, and apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring. As with most hostas, monitor for slug and deer damage, though the small, rippled foliage may be less palatable to deer than larger-leaved cultivars. Scapes rise 12 to 20 inches (30.5 to 50.8 cm) above the foliage.
