Overview
Registered in 1982 by C. Lantis, this small hosta cultivar arose as a hybrid of *Hosta* 'Ogon Koba'. It is distinguished by its variegated leaves with ivory margins, a compact habit, and semi-stoloniferous growth pattern.
In the Garden
'Spring Ivory' forms a low mound reaching 4 inches (10.2 cm) in height and 12 inches (30.5 cm) in diameter. Its small size and semi-stoloniferous nature make it suitable for edging, rock gardens, or front-of-border positions in partial to full shade. It pairs well with other small woodland perennials such as *Heuchera* or *Tiarella*, and performs admirably in containers.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture, particularly during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Typical hosta-growing zones apply; slug and deer damage may occur and should be managed as with other hostas.
