Overview
Registered in 2015 as a sport of *Hosta* 'Snowden', 'Snow Bunting' is a large, fast-growing variegated hosta distinguished by its blue-green leaves with pale yellow to gold margins and a very flat, broadly ovate leaf shape. The foliage is slightly shiny on the upper surface with a glaucous bloom beneath, and the leaf margins are slightly rippled.
In the Garden
'Snow Bunting' reaches a mature spread of approximately 41 inches (105 cm) and a height of 19 inches (48 cm), making it suitable as a specimen or for mid-border placement in partial to full shade, typical of hosta-growing zones. Its upright habit and large, flat leaves pair well with ferns, astilbes, and other shade perennials that contrast in texture. The plant's vigorous growth rate allows it to fill space quickly in woodland gardens or shaded beds.
Care Notes
Water regularly to maintain consistent soil moisture, especially during dry periods. Apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. While slugs and deer may damage foliage, the plant's thick leaves offer moderate resistance; monitor and control pests as needed.
