Overview
Registered in 1986 by the American Hosta Society, this small-sized cultivar is of unknown parentage. 'Silver Streak' is distinguished by its narrow, lanceolate leaves with dark green centers and white, undulated margins, typically bearing six to seven vein pairs.
In the Garden
'Silver Streak' reaches a mature size of approximately 6 to 8 inches in height and 12 to 15 inches in spread, making it suitable for the front of borders or rock gardens. It performs best in partial to full shade and pairs well with small ferns, heucheras, or other miniature hostas. Its compact habit also makes it an excellent candidate for container cultivation.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like many hostas, it is susceptible to slug and deer damage, so protective measures may be necessary in areas where these pests are prevalent.
