Overview

Registered in 2004 as a sport of *Hosta* 'Serendipity', 'Serendipity Singer' is a small-sized cultivar distinguished by its blue-green leaves with heavily rippled, dark blue-green margins that streak toward the center, bordered by a narrow gold edge. The leaves are ovate with cordate bases, deeply wavy, moderately twisted, and lightly folded, with a slight glaucous bloom on both surfaces.

In the Garden

This compact hosta forms a mound 7 inches (17.8 cm) tall and 12 inches (30.5 cm) in diameter, with a moderate growth rate. It performs best in partial to full shade, where its blue-green foliage and gold margins hold color well. Suitable for rock gardens, front-of-border placements, or container culture due to its small size; companions include ferns, heucheras, and small woodland perennials.

Care Notes

Water regularly during dry periods to maintain consistent soil moisture. Fertilize in early spring as new growth emerges. Typical hosta-growing zones apply; slug and deer damage may occur and should be managed as with other hostas.
