Overview
Registered in 2009 by K. Walek of the American Hosta Society, *Hosta* 'Sea Angel' is a small-sized cultivar of unknown parentage. It is visually distinctive for its elliptic green leaves with narrow, white, slightly rippled margins and dull surfaces on both sides.
In the Garden
'Sea Angel' forms a compact, mound-like clump reaching 8 inches (20.3 cm) in height and 20 inches (50.8 cm) in diameter, with a fast growth rate. It is suitable for partial to full shade and pairs well with other small hostas, ferns, or woodland perennials such as *Heuchera* and *Tiarella*. Its small stature makes it an excellent choice for containers, rock gardens, or the front of shaded borders.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, 'Sea Angel' is susceptible to slug and deer damage; monitor and manage as needed in typical hosta-growing zones.
